And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24874\" class=\"text Mark-15-47\"><sup class=\"versenum\">47\u00a0<\/sup>And Mary Magdalene and Mary <i>the mother<\/i> of Joses observed where He was laid.<\/span> Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary <i>the mother<\/i> of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. <span id=\"en-NKJV-24876\" class=\"text Mark-16-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>Very early in the morning, on the first <i>day<\/i> of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24877\" class=\"text Mark-16-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>And they said among themselves, \u201cWho will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?\u201d <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24878\" class=\"text Mark-16-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away\u2014for it was very large. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24879\" class=\"text Mark-16-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. <\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-24880\" class=\"text Mark-16-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>But he said to them, \u201cDo not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24881\" class=\"text Mark-16-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>But go, tell His disciples\u2014and Peter\u2014that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.\u201d <\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-24882\" class=\"text Mark-16-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>So they went out quickly<sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24882a\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24882a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+16&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24882a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup> and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Orthodox\u00a0Wisdom<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;<span style=\"font: 14px\/19.31px helvetica, arial, 'lucida grande', sans-serif; text-align: left; color: #141823; text-transform: none; text-indent: 0px; letter-spacing: normal; word-spacing: 0px; float: none; display: inline !important; white-space: normal; widows: 1; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; background-color: #ffffff; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px;\">We know that the Lord and Giver of Life is not in the tomb but on the Throne of Glory in the heavens.
