And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peters brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, \u00a0distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.<\/p>\n<p>*Eternal rest&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 O my God I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; I believe that Thy Divine Son became man, and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, who canst neither deceive nor be deceived. (Act of Faith)<\/p>\n<p>Monday<\/p>\n<p>**Reading Philippians this week<\/p>\n<p><sup>Philippians 1:19\u00a0<\/sup>For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, <sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. <sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>For to me, to live <em>is<\/em> Christ, and to die <em>is<\/em> gain. <sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>But if <em>I<\/em> live on in the flesh, this <em>will mean<\/em> fruit from <em>my<\/em> labor; yet what I shall choose I <sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+1&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-29384d\">d<\/a>]<\/sup>cannot tell. <sup>23\u00a0[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+1&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-29385e\">e<\/a>]<\/sup>For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, <em>which is<\/em> far better. <sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>Nevertheless to remain in the flesh <em>is<\/em> more needful for you. <sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, <sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again.<sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, <sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but <sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+1&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-29390f\">f<\/a>]<\/sup>to you of salvation, and that from God. <sup>29\u00a0<\/sup>For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, <sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear <em>is<\/em> in me.<\/p>\n<p>*Eternal rest&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Having risen from sleep I hasten to Thee, O Lord, Lover of men, and by Thy loving-kindness I strive to do Thy work, and I pray to Thee:\u00a0 help me at all times, in everything, and deliver me from every evil thing of the world and every attack of the devil, and lead me into Thine eternal Kingdom.
