The daily Scripture readings and a prayer rule have helped discipline me due to the Church calendar. And I love that it connects me to the Saints, that great cloud of witnesses surrounding and praying for us. Also, the conception of the Orthodox Church as a hospital for sinners, has helped cultivate a softer, more empathetic heart in me.
