{"id":10091,"date":"2021-07-10T20:14:32","date_gmt":"2021-07-11T00:14:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=10091"},"modified":"2021-07-09T20:23:53","modified_gmt":"2021-07-10T00:23:53","slug":"daily-devotional-or-july-11-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=10091","title":{"rendered":"Daily Devotional or July 11-17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sunday<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 25:<\/p>\n<p>1\u201c Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6\u201c And at midnight a cry was heard: \u2018Behold, the bridegroom is coming;* go out to meet him!\u2019 7Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8And the foolish said to the wise, \u2018Give us\u00a0\u00a0some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.\u2019 9But the wise answered, saying, \u2018No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.\u2019 10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11\u201c Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, \u2018Lord, Lord, open to us!\u2019 12But he answered and said, \u2018Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.\u2019 13\u201c Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour* in which the Son of Man is coming.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nGlory to God in the Highest and on earth peace good will among men.<\/p>\n<p>Monday<br \/>\nMatthew 25:<\/p>\n<p>14\u201c For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord\u2019s money. 19After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20\u201c So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, \u2018Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.\u2019 21His lord said to him, \u2018Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.\u2019 22He also who had received two talents came and said, \u2018Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.\u2019 23His lord said to him, \u2018Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>24\u201c Then he who had received the one talent came and said, \u2018Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.\u2019 26\u201c But his lord answered and said to him, \u2018You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. 29\u2018 For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0\u00a0 May the Strength of God guide us. May the Power of God preserve us.<br \/>\nMay the Wisdom of God instruct us. May the Hand of God protect us.<br \/>\nMay the Way of God direct us. May the Shield of God defend us.<br \/>\nMay the Angels of God guard us. &#8211; Against the snares of the evil one.<br \/>\n<em>Prayer for the Faithful of St. Patrick Part 1<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday<br \/>\nMatthew 25:<\/p>\n<p>31\u201c When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy* angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on His right hand, \u2018Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.\u2019 37\u201c Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, \u2018Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?\u2019 40And the King will answer and say to them, \u2018Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these\u00a0My brethren, you did it to Me.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>41\u201c Then He will also say to those on the left hand, \u2018Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.\u2019 44\u201c Then they also will answer Him,* saying, \u2018Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?\u2019 45Then He will answer them, saying, \u2018Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.\u2019 46And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nMay Christ be with us! May Christ be before us! May Christ be in us, Christ be over all!<br \/>\nMay Thy Grace, Lord, Always be ours, This day, O Lord, and forevermore. Amen.<br \/>\n<em>Prayer for the Faithful of St. Patrick\u00a0 Part 2<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday<br \/>\nMatthew 26:1 \u00a0 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples, 2\u201c You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.\u201d 3 \u00a0 Then the chief priests, the scribes,* and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, 4 \u00a0 and plotted to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him. 5 \u00a0 But they said, \u201cNot during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>14 \u00a0 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 \u00a0 and said, \u201cWhat are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?\u201d And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. 16 \u00a0 So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nGlory to Jesus Christ \u2013 Glory forever!<br \/>\nThursday<br \/>\nMark 14:12 \u00a0 Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the Passover lamb, His disciples said to Him, \u201cWhere do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?\u201d 13 \u00a0 And He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, \u201cGo into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him. 14Wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, \u2018The Teacher says, \u201cWhere is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?\u201d \u00a0\u2019 15Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.\u201d 16 \u00a0 So His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nFor as many have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ\u2026Alleluia<\/p>\n<p>Friday<br \/>\nJohn 13:1 \u00a0 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. 2 \u00a0 And supper being ended,* the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon\u2019s son, to betray Him, 3 \u00a0 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 \u00a0 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5 \u00a0 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples\u2019 feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 \u00a0 Then He came to Simon Peter.
