\nLuke 23:1 \u00a0 Then the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to Pilate. 2 \u00a0 And they began to accuse Him, saying, \u201cWe found this fellow perverting the* nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.\u201d\u00a0\u00a03 \u00a0 Then Pilate asked Him, saying, \u201cAre You the King of the Jews?\u201d He answered him and said, \u201cIt is as you say.\u201d 4 \u00a0 So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, \u201cI find no fault in this Man.\u201d 5 \u00a0 But they were the more fierce, saying, \u201cHe stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.\u201d 6 \u00a0 When Pilate heard of Galilee,* he asked if the Man were a Galilean. 7 \u00a0 And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod\u2019s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time. 8 \u00a0 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. 9 \u00a0 Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing. 10 \u00a0 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him. 11 \u00a0 Then Herod, with his men of war, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate. 12 \u00a0 That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other, for previously they had been at enmity with each other.<\/p>\n

Prayer:\u00a0 O my God I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; I believe that Thy Divine Son became man, and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. \nMark 15:\u00a06 \u00a0 Now at the feast he was accustomed to releasing one prisoner to them, whomever they requested. 7 \u00a0 And there was one named Barabbas, who was chained with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the rebellion. 8 \u00a0 Then the multitude, crying aloud,* began to ask him to do just as he had\u00a0\u00a0always done for them. 9 \u00a0 But Pilate answered them, saying, \u201cDo you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?\u201d 10 \u00a0 For he knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. 11 \u00a0 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them. 12 \u00a0 Pilate answered and said to them again, \u201cWhat then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?\u201d 13 \u00a0 So they cried out again, \u201cCrucify Him!\u201d 14 \u00a0 Then Pilate said to them, \u201cWhy, what evil has He done?\u201d But they cried out all the more, \u201cCrucify Him!\u201d 15 \u00a0 So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be crucified.<\/p>\n

Prayer:\u00a0 Having risen from sleep I hasten to Thee, O Lord, Lover of men, and by Thy loving-kindness I strive to do Thy work, and I pray to Thee:\u00a0 help me at all times, in everything, and deliver me from every evil thing of the world and every attack of the devil, and lead me into Thine eternal Kingdom. \nJohn 19:1 \u00a0 So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. 2 \u00a0 And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. 3 \u00a0 Then they said,* \u201cHail, King of the Jews!\u201d And they struck Him with their hands. 4 \u00a0 Pilate then went out again, and said to them, \u201cBehold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.\u201d 5 \u00a0 Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, \u201cBehold the Man!\u201d 6 \u00a0 Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, \u201cCrucify Him, crucify Him!\u201d Pilate said to them, \u201cYou take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.\u201d 7 \u00a0 The Jews answered him, \u201cWe have a law, and according to our* law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.\u201d 8 \u00a0 Therefore, when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid, 9 \u00a0 and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, \u201cWhere are You from?\u201d But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 \u00a0 Then Pilate said to Him, \u201cAre You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?\u201d 11 \u00a0 Jesus answered, \u201cYou could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.\u201d 12 \u00a0 From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, \u201cIf you let this Man\u00a0\u00a0go, you are not Caesar\u2019s friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.\u201d 13 \u00a0 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14 \u00a0 Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, \u201cBehold your King!\u201d 15 \u00a0 But they cried out, \u201cAway with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!\u201d Pilate said to them, \u201cShall I crucify your King?\u201d The chief priests answered, \u201cWe have no king but Caesar!\u201d 16 \u00a0 Then he delivered Him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led Him away.*<\/p>\n

Prayer:\u00a0 Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

\nJohn 19:23 \u00a0 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. 24 \u00a0 They said therefore among themselves, \u201cLet us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,\u201d that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u201c They divided My garments among them, \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And for My clothing they cast lots.\u201d* Therefore the soldiers did these things. 25 \u00a0 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother\u2019s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 \u00a0 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, \u201cWoman, behold your son!\u201d 27 \u00a0 Then He said to the disciple, \u201cBehold your mother!\u201d And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.<\/p>\n
