{"id":11310,"date":"2022-05-28T20:55:57","date_gmt":"2022-05-29T00:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=11310"},"modified":"2022-05-27T20:24:40","modified_gmt":"2022-05-28T00:24:40","slug":"daily-devotional-for-may-29-june-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=11310","title":{"rendered":"Daily Devotional for May 29-June 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sunday<br \/>\nContinuing of St Stephen&#8217;s dialogue with the Jews&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Acts 7:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-7-44\"><sup class=\"versenum\">44\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cOur fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27162\" class=\"text Acts-7-45\"><sup class=\"versenum\">45\u00a0<\/sup>which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27163\" class=\"text Acts-7-46\"><sup class=\"versenum\">46\u00a0<\/sup>who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27164\" class=\"text Acts-7-47\"><sup class=\"versenum\">47\u00a0<\/sup>But Solomon built Him a house.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27165\" class=\"text Acts-7-48\"><sup class=\"versenum\">48\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cHowever, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-NKJV-27166\" class=\"text Acts-7-49\"><sup class=\"versenum\">49\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"oblique\">\u2018Heaven<\/span> <i>is<\/i> <span class=\"oblique\">My throne,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-7-49\"><span class=\"oblique\">And earth<\/span> <i>is<\/i> <span class=\"oblique\">My footstool.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-7-49\"><span class=\"oblique\">What house will you build for Me? says the<\/span> <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span><span class=\"oblique\">,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-7-49\"><span class=\"oblique\">Or what<\/span> <i>is<\/i> <span class=\"oblique\">the place of My rest?<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NKJV-27167\" class=\"text Acts-7-50\"><sup class=\"versenum\">50\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"oblique\">Has My hand not<\/span> <span class=\"oblique\">made all these things?\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-7-51\"><sup class=\"versenum\">51\u00a0<\/sup>\u201c<i>You<\/i> stiff-necked<sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27168g\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27168g&quot; title=&quot;See footnote g&quot;&gt;g&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote g\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%207&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27168g\">g<\/a>]<\/sup> and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers <i>did,<\/i> so <i>do<\/i> you. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27169\" class=\"text Acts-7-52\"><sup class=\"versenum\">52\u00a0<\/sup>Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27170\" class=\"text Acts-7-53\"><sup class=\"versenum\">53\u00a0<\/sup>who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept <i>it.<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-7-54\"><sup class=\"versenum\">54\u00a0<\/sup>When they heard these things they were <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27171h\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27171h&quot; title=&quot;See footnote h&quot;&gt;h&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote h\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%207&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27171h\">h<\/a>]<\/sup>cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with <i>their<\/i> teeth. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27172\" class=\"text Acts-7-55\"><sup class=\"versenum\">55\u00a0<\/sup>But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27173\" class=\"text Acts-7-56\"><sup class=\"versenum\">56\u00a0<\/sup>and said, \u201cLook! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27174\" class=\"text Acts-7-57\"><sup class=\"versenum\">57\u00a0<\/sup>Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27175\" class=\"text Acts-7-58\"><sup class=\"versenum\">58\u00a0<\/sup>and they cast <i>him<\/i> out of the city and stoned <i>him.<\/i> And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27176\" class=\"text Acts-7-59\"><sup class=\"versenum\">59\u00a0<\/sup>And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on <i>God<\/i> and saying, \u201cLord Jesus, receive my spirit.\u201d <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27177\" class=\"text Acts-7-60\"><sup class=\"versenum\">60\u00a0<\/sup>Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, \u201cLord, do not charge them with this sin.\u201d And when he had said this, he fell asleep.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 O my God I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; I believe that Thy Divine Son became man, and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, who canst neither deceive nor be deceived. (Act of Faith)<\/p>\n<p>Monday<br \/>\nActs 8:\u00a0<span class=\"text Acts-8-1\">Now Saul was consenting to his death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-8-1\">At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27179\" class=\"text Acts-8-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>And devout men carried Stephen <i>to his burial,<\/i> and made great lamentation over him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27180\" class=\"text Acts-8-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing <i>them<\/i> to prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-8-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27182\" class=\"text Acts-8-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>Then Philip went down to <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27182a\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27182a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27182a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup>the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27183\" class=\"text Acts-8-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27184\" class=\"text Acts-8-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27185\" class=\"text Acts-8-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>And there was great joy in that city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-8-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27186b\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27186b&quot; title=&quot;See footnote b&quot;&gt;b&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27186b\">b<\/a>]<\/sup>sorcery in the city and astonished the <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27186c\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27186c&quot; title=&quot;See footnote c&quot;&gt;c&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27186c\">c<\/a>]<\/sup>people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27187\" class=\"text Acts-8-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, \u201cThis man is the great power of God.\u201d <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27188\" class=\"text Acts-8-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27188d\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27188d&quot; title=&quot;See footnote d&quot;&gt;d&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27188d\">d<\/a>]<\/sup>sorceries for a long time. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27189\" class=\"text Acts-8-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27190\" class=\"text Acts-8-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Having risen from sleep I hasten to Thee, O Lord, Lover of men, and by Thy loving-kindness I strive to do Thy work, and I pray to Thee:\u00a0 help me at all times, in everything, and deliver me from every evil thing of the world and every attack of the devil, and lead me into Thine eternal Kingdom. For Thou art my Creator, the Giver and Provider of everything good, and all my hope is in Thee, and to Thee I send up glory, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.\u00a0 Amen.<br \/>\n*Prayer for the next day\u2019s morning<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday<br \/>\nActs 8:\u00a0<span class=\"text Acts-8-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27192\" class=\"text Acts-8-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27193\" class=\"text Acts-8-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27194\" class=\"text Acts-8-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27195\" class=\"text Acts-8-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles\u2019 hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27196\" class=\"text Acts-8-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>saying, \u201cGive me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27197\" class=\"text Acts-8-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>But Peter said to him, \u201cYour money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27198\" class=\"text Acts-8-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27199\" class=\"text Acts-8-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27200\" class=\"text Acts-8-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27201\" class=\"text Acts-8-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>Then Simon answered and said, \u201cPray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27202\" class=\"text Acts-8-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>So when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.<br \/>\nV. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.<br \/>\nR. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.<br \/>\n*Salve Regina<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday<br \/>\nActs 8:<span class=\"text Acts-8-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, \u201cArise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.\u201d This is <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27203e\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27203e&quot; title=&quot;See footnote e&quot;&gt;e&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27203e\">e<\/a>]<\/sup>desert. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27204\" class=\"text Acts-8-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27205\" class=\"text Acts-8-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27206\" class=\"text Acts-8-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>Then the Spirit said to Philip, \u201cGo near and overtake this chariot.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27207\" class=\"text Acts-8-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, \u201cDo you understand what you are reading?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27208\" class=\"text Acts-8-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31\u00a0<\/sup>And he said, \u201cHow can I, unless someone guides me?\u201d And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27209\" class=\"text Acts-8-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32\u00a0<\/sup>The place in the Scripture which he read was this:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text Acts-8-32\"><span class=\"oblique\">\u201cHe was led as a sheep to the slaughter;<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-8-32\"><span class=\"oblique\">And as a lamb before its shearer<\/span> <i>is<\/i> <span class=\"oblique\">silent,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-8-32\"><span class=\"oblique\">So He opened not His mouth.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NKJV-27210\" class=\"text Acts-8-33\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"oblique\">In His humiliation His<\/span> <span class=\"oblique\">justice was taken away,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-8-33\"><span class=\"oblique\">And who will declare His generation?<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Acts-8-33\"><span class=\"oblique\">For His life is<\/span> <span class=\"oblique\">taken from the earth.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"top-1\"><span id=\"en-NKJV-27211\" class=\"text Acts-8-34\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34\u00a0<\/sup>So the eunuch answered Philip and said, \u201cI ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?\u201d <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27212\" class=\"text Acts-8-35\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35\u00a0<\/sup>Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27213\" class=\"text Acts-8-36\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36\u00a0<\/sup>Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, \u201cSee, <i>here is<\/i> water. What hinders me from being baptized?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27214\" class=\"text Acts-8-37\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37\u00a0<\/sup><sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27214f\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27214f&quot; title=&quot;See footnote f&quot;&gt;f&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27214f\">f<\/a>]<\/sup>Then Philip said, \u201cIf you believe with all your heart, you may.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-8-37\">And he answered and said, \u201cI believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27215\" class=\"text Acts-8-38\"><sup class=\"versenum\">38\u00a0<\/sup>So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27216\" class=\"text Acts-8-39\"><sup class=\"versenum\">39\u00a0<\/sup>Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27217\" class=\"text Acts-8-40\"><sup class=\"versenum\">40\u00a0<\/sup>But Philip was found at <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27217g\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27217g&quot; title=&quot;See footnote g&quot;&gt;g&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote g\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27217g\">g<\/a>]<\/sup>Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Queen of Heaven rejoice, alleluia: For He whom you merited to bear, alleluia, Has risen as He said, alleluia. Pray for us to God, alleluia. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia. Because the Lord is truly risen, alleluia.<br \/>\nLet us pray : O God, who by the Resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, granted joy to the whole world: grant we beg Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may lay hold of the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.<br \/>\n*Regina Coeli<\/p>\n<p>Thursday<br \/>\nActs 9:1\u00a0<span class=\"text Acts-9-1\">Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27219\" class=\"text Acts-9-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27220\" class=\"text Acts-9-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27221\" class=\"text Acts-9-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cSaul, Saul,<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">why are you persecuting Me?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27222\" class=\"text Acts-9-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>And he said, \u201cWho are You, Lord?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-9-5\">Then the Lord said, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cI am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.<\/span> <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27222a\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27222a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27222a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">It <i>is<\/i> hard for you to kick against the goads.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27223\" class=\"text Acts-9-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>So he, trembling and astonished, said, \u201cLord, what do You want me to do?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-9-6\">Then the Lord <i>said<\/i> to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cArise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27224\" class=\"text Acts-9-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27225\" class=\"text Acts-9-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought <i>him<\/i> into Damascus. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27226\" class=\"text Acts-9-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.\u00a0\u00a0 And she conceived of the Holy Ghost.<br \/>\nHail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death.<\/p>\n<p>Friday<br \/>\nActs 9:<span class=\"text Acts-9-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cAnanias.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-9-10\">And he said, \u201cHere I am, Lord.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27228\" class=\"text Acts-9-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>So the Lord <i>said<\/i> to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cArise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for <i>one<\/i> called Saul<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27229\" class=\"text Acts-9-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting <i>his<\/i> hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27230\" class=\"text Acts-9-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>Then Ananias answered, \u201cLord, I have heard from many about this man, how much <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27230b\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27230b&quot; title=&quot;See footnote b&quot;&gt;b&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27230b\">b<\/a>]<\/sup>harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27231\" class=\"text Acts-9-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27232\" class=\"text Acts-9-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>But the Lord said to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cGo, for<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">Gentiles,<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">kings, and the<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">children<\/span><sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27232c\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27232c&quot; title=&quot;See footnote c&quot;&gt;c&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27232c\">c<\/a>]<\/sup> <span class=\"woj\">of Israel.<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27233\" class=\"text Acts-9-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">For<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">I will show him how many things he must suffer for My<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">name\u2019s sake.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27234\" class=\"text Acts-9-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, \u201cBrother Saul, the Lord <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27234d\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27234d&quot; title=&quot;See footnote d&quot;&gt;d&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27234d\">d<\/a>]<\/sup>Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.\u201d <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27235\" class=\"text Acts-9-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately there fell from his eyes <i>something<\/i> like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27236\" class=\"text Acts-9-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>So when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 \u00a0Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an Angel, may by His Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday<br \/>\nActs 9:<span class=\"text Acts-9-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">0\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately he preached <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-27237e\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-27237e&quot; title=&quot;See footnote e&quot;&gt;e&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-27237e\">e<\/a>]<\/sup>the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27238\" class=\"text Acts-9-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>Then all who heard were amazed, and said, \u201cIs this not he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-27239\" class=\"text Acts-9-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this <i>Jesus<\/i> is the Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-9-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>Now after many days were past, the Jews plotted to kill him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27241\" class=\"text Acts-9-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched the gates day and night, to kill him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27242\" class=\"text Acts-9-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>Then the disciples took him by night and let <i>him<\/i> down through the wall in a large basket.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Acts-9-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-27244\" class=\"text Acts-9-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>But Barnabas took him and brought <i>him<\/i> to the apostles.
