And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24525\" class=\"text Mark-8-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>And he looked up and said, \u201cI see men like trees, walking.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24526\" class=\"text Mark-8-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>Then He put <i>His<\/i> hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24527\" class=\"text Mark-8-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>Then He sent him away to his house, saying, <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24527d\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24527d&quot; title=&quot;See footnote d&quot;&gt;d&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24527d\">d<\/a>]<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">\u201cNeither go into the town,<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">nor tell anyone in the town.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Mark-8-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cWho do men say that I am?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24529\" class=\"text Mark-8-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>So they answered, \u201cJohn the Baptist; but some <i>say,<\/i> Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24530\" class=\"text Mark-8-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>He said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cBut who do you say that I am?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Mark-8-29\">Peter answered and said to Him, \u201cYou are the Christ.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24531\" class=\"text Mark-8-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>Then He strictly warned them that they should tell no one about Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nGlory to God in the Highest and on earth peace good will among men.<\/p>\n<p>Monday<br \/>\nMark 8:<span class=\"text Mark-8-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31\u00a0<\/sup>And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24533\" class=\"text Mark-8-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32\u00a0<\/sup>He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24534\" class=\"text Mark-8-33\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33\u00a0<\/sup>But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cGet behind Me, Satan! For you are not<\/span> <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24534e\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24534e&quot; title=&quot;See footnote e&quot;&gt;e&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%208&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24534e\">e<\/a>]<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Mark-8-34\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34\u00a0<\/sup>When He had called the people to <i>Himself,<\/i> with His disciples also, He said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cWhoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24536\" class=\"text Mark-8-35\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">For<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel\u2019s will save it.<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24537\" class=\"text Mark-8-36\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24538\" class=\"text Mark-8-37\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24539\" class=\"text Mark-8-38\"><sup class=\"versenum\">38\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">For whoever<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0\u00a0 May the Strength of God guide us. May the Power of God preserve us.<br \/>\nMay the Wisdom of God instruct us. May the Hand of God protect us.<br \/>\nMay the Way of God direct us. May the Shield of God defend us.<br \/>\nMay the Angels of God guard us. &#8211; Against the snares of the evil one.<br \/>\n<em>Prayer for the Faithful of St. Patrick Part 1<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday<br \/>\nMark\u00a0 9:\u00a0<span class=\"text Mark-9-1\">And He said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cAssuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">the kingdom of God<\/span> <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24540a\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24540a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24540a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">present with power.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Mark-9-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24542\" class=\"text Mark-9-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24543\" class=\"text Mark-9-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24544\" class=\"text Mark-9-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, \u201cRabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah\u201d\u2014 <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24545\" class=\"text Mark-9-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24546\" class=\"text Mark-9-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, \u201cThis is My beloved Son. Hear Him!\u201d <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24547\" class=\"text Mark-9-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>Suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no one anymore, but only Jesus with themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24548\" class=\"text Mark-9-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>Now as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things they had seen, till the Son of Man had risen from the dead. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24549\" class=\"text Mark-9-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>So they kept this word to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nMay Christ be with us! May Christ be before us! May Christ be in us, Christ be over all!<br \/>\nMay Thy Grace, Lord, Always be ours, This day, O Lord, and forevermore. Amen.<br \/>\n<em>Prayer for the Faithful of St. Patrick\u00a0 Part 2<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday<br \/>\nMark 9:<span id=\"en-NKJV-24550\" class=\"text Mark-9-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>And they asked Him, saying, \u201cWhy do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24551\" class=\"text Mark-9-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>Then He answered and told them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cIndeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">be treated with contempt?<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24552\" class=\"text Mark-9-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">But I say to you that<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">Elijah has also come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Mark-9-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>And when He came to the disciples, He saw a great multitude around them, and scribes disputing with them. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24554\" class=\"text Mark-9-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately, when they saw Him, all the people were greatly amazed, and running to <i>Him,<\/i> greeted Him. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24555\" class=\"text Mark-9-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>And He asked the scribes, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cWhat are you discussing with them?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24556\" class=\"text Mark-9-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>Then one of the crowd answered and said, \u201cTeacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24557\" class=\"text Mark-9-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nGlory to Jesus Christ \u2013 Glory forever!<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thursday<br \/>\nMark 9:<span id=\"en-NKJV-24558\" class=\"text Mark-9-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>He answered him and said, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cO<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">faithless<\/span><sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24558b\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24558b&quot; title=&quot;See footnote b&quot;&gt;b&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24558b\">b<\/a>]<\/sup> <span class=\"woj\">generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I<\/span> <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24558c\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24558c&quot; title=&quot;See footnote c&quot;&gt;c&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24558c\">c<\/a>]<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">bear with you? Bring him to Me.\u201d<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24559\" class=\"text Mark-9-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24560\" class=\"text Mark-9-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>So He asked his father, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cHow long has this been happening to him?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Mark-9-21\">And he said, \u201cFrom childhood. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24561\" class=\"text Mark-9-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24562\" class=\"text Mark-9-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cIf<\/span><sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24562d\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24562d&quot; title=&quot;See footnote d&quot;&gt;d&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24562d\">d<\/a>]<\/sup> <span class=\"woj\">you can believe, all things <i>are<\/i> possible to him who believes.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24563\" class=\"text Mark-9-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, \u201cLord, I believe; help my unbelief!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24564\" class=\"text Mark-9-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cDeaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!\u201d<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24565\" class=\"text Mark-9-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>Then <i>the spirit<\/i> cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, \u201cHe is dead.\u201d <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24566\" class=\"text Mark-9-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24567\" class=\"text Mark-9-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, \u201cWhy could we not cast it out?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-24568\" class=\"text Mark-9-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>So He said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cThis kind can come out by nothing but<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">prayer<\/span> <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24568e\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24568e&quot; title=&quot;See footnote e&quot;&gt;e&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24568e\">e<\/a>]<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">and fasting.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prayer:<br \/>\nFor as many have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ\u2026Alleluia<\/p>\n<p>Friday<br \/>\nMark 9:<span class=\"text Mark-9-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>Then they departed from there and passed through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know <i>it.<\/i> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24570\" class=\"text Mark-9-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31\u00a0<\/sup>For He taught His disciples and said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cThe Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">kill Him. And after He is killed, He will<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">rise the third day.\u201d<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24571\" class=\"text Mark-9-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32\u00a0<\/sup>But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Mark-9-33\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33\u00a0<\/sup>Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cWhat was it you<\/span> <sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NKJV-24572f\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NKJV-24572f&quot; title=&quot;See footnote f&quot;&gt;f&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark%209&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24572f\">f<\/a>]<\/sup><span class=\"woj\">disputed among yourselves on the road?\u201d<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24573\" class=\"text Mark-9-34\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34\u00a0<\/sup>But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who <i>would be the<\/i> greatest. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24574\" class=\"text Mark-9-35\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35\u00a0<\/sup>And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cIf anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.\u201d<\/span> <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-24575\" class=\"text Mark-9-36\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36\u00a0<\/sup>Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them.
