\nMark 14:<\/p>\n
12\u00a0<\/sup>Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they [d<\/a>]<\/sup>killed the Passover lamb,<\/i> His disciples said to Him, \u201cWhere do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n 13\u00a0<\/sup>And He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, \u201cGo into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him.<\/span> <\/span> 14\u00a0<\/sup>Wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, \u2018The Teacher says, \u201cWhere is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?\u201d \u2019<\/span> <\/span> 15\u00a0<\/sup>Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and<\/i> prepared; there make ready for us.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 16\u00a0<\/sup>So His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover.<\/span><\/p>\n 17\u00a0<\/sup>In the evening He came with the twelve. <\/span> 18\u00a0<\/sup>Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, \u201cAssuredly, I say to you,<\/span> one of you who eats with Me will betray Me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 19\u00a0<\/sup>And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, \u201cIs<\/i> it I?\u201d [e<\/a>]<\/sup>And another said,<\/i> \u201cIs<\/i> it I?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n 20\u00a0<\/sup>He answered and said to them, \u201cIt is<\/i> one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish.<\/span> <\/span> 21\u00a0<\/sup>The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Prayer:\u00a0 We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen. <\/p>\n Monday 23\u00a0<\/sup>Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it<\/i> to them, and they all drank from it. <\/span> 24\u00a0<\/sup>And He said to them, \u201cThis is My blood of the<\/span> [g<\/a>]<\/sup>new covenant, which is shed for many.<\/span> <\/span> 25\u00a0<\/sup>Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 26\u00a0<\/sup>And when they had sung [h<\/a>]<\/sup>a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.<\/span><\/p>\n 27\u00a0<\/sup>Then Jesus said to them, \u201cAll of you will be made to stumble<\/span> [i<\/a>]<\/sup>because of Me this night, for it is written:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u2018I will strike the Shepherd,<\/span><\/span> 28\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cBut<\/span> after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 29\u00a0<\/sup>Peter said to Him, \u201cEven if all are made to [j<\/a>]<\/sup>stumble, yet I will<\/i> not be.<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n 30\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said to him, \u201cAssuredly, I say to you that today, even<\/i> this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 31\u00a0<\/sup>But he spoke more vehemently, \u201cIf I have to die with You, I will not deny You!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And they all said likewise.<\/span><\/p>\n Prayer:\u00a0 O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things, Treasury of good things and Giver of life: Come and dwell in us, and cleanse us of all impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.<\/p>\n Tuesday 35\u00a0<\/sup>He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. <\/span> 36\u00a0<\/sup>And He said, \u201cAbba, Father,<\/span> all things are<\/i> possible for You. Take this cup away from Me;<\/span> nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 37\u00a0<\/sup>Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, \u201cSimon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?<\/span> <\/span> 38\u00a0<\/sup>Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.<\/span> The spirit indeed is<\/i> willing, but the flesh is<\/i> weak.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 39\u00a0<\/sup>Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. <\/span> 40\u00a0<\/sup>And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him.<\/span><\/p>\n 41\u00a0<\/sup>Then He came the third time and said to them, \u201cAre you still sleeping and resting? It is enough!<\/span> The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.<\/span> <\/span> 42\u00a0<\/sup>Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Prayer:\u00a0 Holy angel of the Lord by guardian, pray to God for me.<\/p>\n Wednesday 45\u00a0<\/sup>As soon as he had come, immediately he went up to Him and said to Him, \u201cRabbi, Rabbi!\u201d and kissed Him.<\/span><\/p>\n 46\u00a0<\/sup>Then they laid their hands on Him and took Him. <\/span> 47\u00a0<\/sup>And one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.<\/span><\/p>\n 48\u00a0<\/sup>Then Jesus answered and said to them, \u201cHave you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me?<\/span> <\/span> 49\u00a0<\/sup>I was daily with you in the temple<\/span> teaching, and you did not seize Me. But<\/span> the Scriptures must be fulfilled.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 50\u00a0<\/sup>Then they all forsook Him and fled.<\/span><\/p>\n 51\u00a0<\/sup>Now a certain young man followed Him, having a linen cloth thrown around his<\/i> naked body.<\/i> And the young men laid hold of him, <\/span> 52\u00a0<\/sup>and he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked.<\/span><\/p>\n Prayer:\u00a0 Our Father, Who art in \u00a0Heaven, hallowed by Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.<\/p>\n Thursday 55\u00a0<\/sup>Now the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none. <\/span> 56\u00a0<\/sup>For many bore false witness against Him, but their testimonies [k<\/a>]<\/sup>did not agree.<\/span><\/p>\n 57\u00a0<\/sup>Then some rose up and bore false witness against Him, saying, <\/span> 58\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cWe heard Him say, \u2018I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.\u2019 \u201d <\/span> 59\u00a0<\/sup>But not even then did their testimony agree.<\/span><\/p>\n 60\u00a0<\/sup>And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, saying, \u201cDo You answer nothing? What is it<\/i> these men testify against You?\u201d <\/span> 61\u00a0<\/sup>But He kept silent and answered nothing.<\/span><\/p>\n Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, \u201cAre You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n 62\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said, \u201cI am.<\/span> And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 63\u00a0<\/sup>Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, \u201cWhat further need do we have of witnesses? <\/span> 64\u00a0<\/sup>You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death.<\/span><\/p>\n 65\u00a0<\/sup>Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, \u201cProphesy!\u201d And the officers [l<\/a>]<\/sup>struck Him with the palms of their hands.<\/span><\/p>\n Prayer:\u00a0 O Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. O Lord, blot out our sins. O Master, pardon our iniquities. O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for Thy name’s sake.<\/p>\n Friday 68\u00a0<\/sup>But he denied it, saying, \u201cI neither know nor understand what you are saying.\u201d And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.<\/span><\/p>\n 69\u00a0<\/sup>And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say to those who stood by, \u201cThis is one<\/i> of them.\u201d <\/span> 70\u00a0<\/sup>But he denied it again.<\/span><\/p>\n And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, \u201cSurely you are one<\/i> of them; for you are a Galilean, [m<\/a>]<\/sup>and your [n<\/a>]<\/sup>speech shows it.<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n 71\u00a0<\/sup>Then he began to curse and swear, \u201cI do not know this Man of whom you speak!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n 72\u00a0<\/sup>A second time the<\/i> rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, \u201cBefore the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.\u201d<\/span> And when he thought about it, he wept.<\/span><\/p>\n Prayer:\u00a0 Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3X)<\/p>\n Saturday He answered and said to him, \u201cIt is as<\/i> you say.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\n*Sub Tuum Praesidium<\/p>\n
\nMark 14:22\u00a0<\/sup>And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it,<\/i> and gave it<\/i> to them and said, \u201cTake,<\/span> [f<\/a>]<\/sup>eat; this is My<\/span> body.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\nAnd the sheep will be scattered.\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nMark 14:32\u00a0<\/sup>Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, \u201cSit here while I pray.\u201d<\/span> <\/span> 33\u00a0<\/sup>And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. <\/span> 34\u00a0<\/sup>Then He said to them, \u201cMy soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even<\/i> to death. Stay here and watch.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\nMark 14:43\u00a0<\/sup>And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. <\/span> 44\u00a0<\/sup>Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying, \u201cWhomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him<\/i> away safely.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
\nMark 14:53\u00a0<\/sup>And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes. <\/span> 54\u00a0<\/sup>But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the servants and warmed himself at the fire.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nMark 14:66\u00a0<\/sup>Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came. <\/span> 67\u00a0<\/sup>And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, \u201cYou also were with Jesus of Nazareth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
\nMark 15:Immediately, in the morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council; and they bound Jesus, led Him<\/i> away, and delivered Him<\/i> to Pilate. <\/span> 2\u00a0<\/sup>Then Pilate asked Him, \u201cAre You the King of the Jews?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
