A certain judge, a righteous Muslim, invited to his house an Orthodox Abbot who was ascetising in a monastery nearby. As they were having dinner, he asked the abbot: \u201cYou are a wise man. So tell me this. I am a judge, a Muslim, and I obey the laws of my faith. I judge impartially, do not take bribes, feed the poor, pray and fast. I live by the will of Allah. How can I not inherit the Kingdom?\u201d<\/p>\n

The abbot replied: \u201cDo you have children, good man?\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cYes\u201d answered the judge.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd do you have servants?\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, I do!\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWho obeys you more \u2013 your children or your servants?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy servants. They listen to my every word. They go out of their way to please me. And my children\u2026 They are often haughty, obstinate and disobedient.\u201d<\/p>\n

The abbot said: \u201cWhen you die, who will you leave your estate to \u2013 your children or servants?\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cMy children, of course!\u201d \u2013 exclaimed the judge.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the same way with the Kingdom. You may be an ideal servant, but a son will inherit the estate. There is only one way you can become one \u2013 Jesus,\u201d concluded the abbot.<\/p>\n
