{"id":123,"date":"2015-04-29T00:38:58","date_gmt":"2015-04-29T00:38:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=123"},"modified":"2015-04-29T00:38:58","modified_gmt":"2015-04-29T00:38:58","slug":"wednesday-april-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=123","title":{"rendered":"Wednesday April 29"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #165916;\"><strong>Orthodox Daily Devotional<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Scripture Reading<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">JOHN 4: <sup>46\u00a0<\/sup>So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. <sup>47\u00a0<\/sup>When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. <sup>48\u00a0<\/sup>Then Jesus said to him, \u201cUnless you <em>people<\/em> see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.\u201d <sup>49\u00a0<\/sup>The nobleman said to Him, \u201cSir, come down before my child dies!\u201d<sup>50\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said to him, \u201cGo your way; your son lives.\u201d \u00a0So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. <sup>51\u00a0<\/sup>And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told <em>him,<\/em> saying, \u201cYour son lives!\u201d<sup>52\u00a0<\/sup>Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, \u201cYesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<sup>53\u00a0<\/sup>So the father knew that <em>it was<\/em> at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, \u201cYour son lives.\u201d \u00a0And he himself believed, and his whole household.<sup>54\u00a0<\/sup>This again <em>is<\/em> the second sign Jesus did when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Something to Think About<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">My taking the first step away from Jesus this man showed his faith.\u00a0 As the distance grew, his faith grew.\u00a0 Had he not believed he would not have taken Jesus at His word.\u00a0 Do we believe Jesus will answer our legitimate requests when we approach Him?\u00a0 When we walk away does our faith increase or even decrease?<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">New Calendar\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/oca.org\/saints\/lives\" target=\"_blank\">Saints<\/a> &amp;\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/oca.org\/readings\" target=\"_blank\">Lectionary Scriptures<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Old Calendar <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holytrinityorthodox.com\/calendar\/\" target=\"_blank\">Saints &amp; Lectionary Scriptures<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<div style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Calibri'; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: xx-small;\">Scripture taken from the New King James Version. \u00a9 1979, 1980, 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc.
