Genesis 3:16\u00a0 To the woman He said, \u201cI will greatly multiply your pain and your groaning, and in pain you shall bring forth children. Your recourse will be to your husband, and he shall rule over you.\u201d\u00a0 Then to Adam He said, \u201cBecause you heeded the voice of your wife, and ate from the one tree of which I commanded you, saying, \u2018You shall not eat from it,\u2019 cursed is the ground in your labors. In toil you shall eat from it all the days of your life.\u00a0 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field.\u00a0 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground from which you were taken. WE share in the punishment of Adam and Eve in our daily lives as well as that we merit through our actions.\u00a0 The season of Lent is a change for us to repent and gain God\u2019s Grace.<\/p>\n
Prayer:\u00a0 Having risen from sleep I hasten to Thee, O Lord, Lover of men, and by Thy loving-kindness I strive to do Thy work, and I pray to Thee:\u00a0 help me at all times, in everything, and deliver me from every evil thing of the world and every attack of the devil, and lead me into Thine eternal Kingdom. For Thou art my Creator, the Giver and Provider of everything good, and all my hope is in Thee, and to Thee I send up glory, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.\u00a0 Amen.
