\n<\/span><\/strong>The Samaritan Woman came to the well in faith; \/ She saw You, the Water of Wisdom, and drank abundantly \/ She inherited the Kingdom on High and is ever glorified!<\/span><\/p>\n

27\u00a0<\/sup>And at this point<\/i> His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, \u201cWhat do You seek?\u201d or, \u201cWhy are You talking with her?\u201d<\/span>28\u00a0<\/sup>The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, <\/span> 29\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cCome, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?\u201d <\/span> 30\u00a0<\/sup>Then they went out of the city and came to Him. <\/span>31\u00a0<\/sup>In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, \u201cRabbi, eat.\u201d <\/span>32\u00a0<\/sup>But He said to them, \u201cI have food to eat of which you do not know.\u201d <\/span><\/span>33\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore the disciples said to one another, \u201cHas anyone brought Him anything<\/i> to eat?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>34\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said to them, \u201cMy food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.<\/span> <\/span> 35\u00a0<\/sup>Do you not say, \u2018There are still four months and then<\/i> comes the harvest\u2019? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!<\/span> <\/span> 36\u00a0<\/sup>And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.<\/span> <\/span> 37\u00a0<\/sup>For in this the saying is true: \u2018One sows and another reaps.\u2019<\/span> <\/span> 38\u00a0<\/sup>I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Orthodox\u00a0Wisdom
\n<\/strong><\/span> He leads them, as his custom is, from low things to high. Fields and harvest here express the great number of souls, which are ready to receive the word. The eyes are both spiritual, and bodily ones, for they saw a great multitude of Samaritans now approaching. This expectant crowd he calls very suitably white fields. For as the corn, when it grows white, is ready for the harvest; so were these ready for salvation. But why does He not say this in direct language? Because by making use in this way of the objects around them, he gave greater vividness and power to His words, and brought the truth home to them; and also that His discourse might be more pleasant, and might sink deeper into their memories.<\/p>\n

Something to Think About
\n<\/strong><\/span>Sowers who spread the grain are rewarded\u00a0 and reapers who gather the grain are rewarded.\u00a0 Those who introduce others to things about Christ and His Church are rewarded and those who help bring them into the Church through love and instruction are rewarded.\u00a0 There is no reward for those who do nothing….only punishment.<\/span><\/p>\n
