The announcement of] His Resurrection: \u00a0“…and the third day He shall rise again.” \u00a0\u00a0(Mark 10:32-45)<\/p>\n
The catechesis, the preparation for the great mystery, is drawing to its end, the decisive hour of man’s entrance into Christ’s Death and Resurrection is approaching. \u00a0Today Lent s no longer the preparation of the catechumen for Baptism, but although baptized and confirmed, are we not in a sense still “catechumens”? Or rather, are we not to return to this state every year? Do we not fall away again and again from the great mystery of which we have been made participants? Do we not need in our life– which is one permanent alienation from Christ and His Kingdom– this annual journey back to the very roots of our Christian faith?<\/p>\n

Monday<\/p>\n
\u201cPray without forming images in your mind. Don\u2019t try to imagine Christ. The Fathers emphasized the need for prayer to be free of images. With an image, the focus of prayer is easily lost, because one image can easily be displaced by another. And the evil one may intrude images and we lose the grace.”

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36\u00a0<\/sup>But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37\u00a0<\/sup>Then He said to His disciples, \u201cThe harvest truly is<\/em> plentiful, but the laborers are<\/em> few. 38\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.\u201d<\/p>\n Tuesday<\/p>\n “Do you know how hard life is for honest people? They run into all kinds of difficulties and have to take all kinds of abuse from their employers. Life becomes hell for them. But what are they supposed to do? Quit? They have a family to feed. Should they stay? They\u2019ll run into more trouble. Should they obey their conscience or their boss? They are between a rock and a hard place. They can\u2019t stand it. But they remain patient and try to manage as best they can.” Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. 28\u00a0<\/sup>And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29\u00a0<\/sup>Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father\u2019s will. 30\u00a0<\/sup>But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31\u00a0<\/sup>Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wednesday<\/p>\n “We should address ourselves to God in the manner of a humble servant with a voice of entreaty and supplication. Then our prayer will be well-pleasing to God. Let us stand devoutly before the Cross of Christ and say: \u2018Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me.\u2019 That says everything.\u201d Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33\u00a0<\/sup>But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thursday<\/p>\n “Man cannot escape God’s eye even as regards the smallest things, even in the most secret places for God is present everywhere. He cannot lie to God without God knowing that he is lying. So when a person confesses he must tell the confessor the full truth about his deeds, thoughts, and feelings, hiding nothing. Such confession is essential for one’s spiritual health and progress. It is a most important means of inner purification.” He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41\u00a0<\/sup>He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet\u2019s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man\u2019s reward. 42\u00a0<\/sup>And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water<\/em> in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Friday<\/p>\n “Everything starts from good thoughts. This is what elevates a person and changes him for the better. One must reach a point of being able to see all things in purity. It is as Christ said “Judge not according to the appearance but judge righteous judgment.” And having acquired this man can reach the point of seeing everything with spiritual eyes, not physical eyes. All things can be justified in the good sense of the term. We must be careful not to accept the Devil’s evil messages so as not to pollute the Temple of the Holy Spirit thereby banishing the Grace of God and bringing spiritual darkness to our soul. When the Holy Spirit sees our heart in purity He comes and dwells in us because He loves purity \u2013 this is why He manifests Himself as a dove.” At that time Jesus answered and said, \u201cI thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the<\/em> wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26\u00a0<\/sup>Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27\u00a0<\/sup>All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one<\/em> to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.<\/em> 28\u00a0<\/sup>Come to Me, all you<\/em> who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29\u00a0<\/sup>Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30\u00a0<\/sup>For My yoke is<\/em> easy and My burden is light.\u201d<\/p>\n Saturday<\/p>\n \u201cFor God does not look at the quantity of our struggles, but examines the intention and the discernment with which we work, and He pours out His good, great, and abundant mercy accordingly, to Whom be all glory, honor, and worship, always, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen!\u201d Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35\u00a0<\/sup>For I have come to \u2018set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law\u2019; 36\u00a0<\/sup>and \u2018a man\u2019s enemies will be<\/em> those of his own<\/em> household.\u2019 37\u00a0<\/sup>He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.
