After the murder of the holy Archdeacon Stephen a persecution against the Jerusalem Church broke out, and Righteous Lazarus was cast out of Jerusalem. The holy sisters then assisted their brother in the proclaiming of the Gospel in various lands (departing life in Cyprus).<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: 1; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 24px; text-indent: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Scripture Reading<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>MATTHEW 4 <span class=\"text\"><sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. <sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, <sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: <sup>15\u00a0<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"oblique\">\u201cThe land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text\"><sup>16\u00a0<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"oblique\">The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.\u201d<\/span><span class=\"text\"><sup> 17\u00a0<\/sup>From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, <\/span><span class=\"woj\">\u201cRepent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.\u201d <\/span><sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. <sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>Then He said to them, \u201cFollow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.\u201d <sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>They immediately left <i>their<\/i> nets and followed Him. <sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James <i>the son<\/i> of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets.
