MATTHEW 13 On the same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea. 2\u00a0<\/sup>And great multitudes were gathered together to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3\u00a0<\/sup>Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: \u201cBehold, a sower went out to sow. 4\u00a0<\/sup>And as he sowed, some seed<\/em> fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5\u00a0<\/sup>Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6\u00a0<\/sup>But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7\u00a0<\/sup>And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8\u00a0<\/sup>But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9\u00a0<\/sup>He who has ears to hear, let him hear!\u201d 10\u00a0<\/sup>And the disciples came and said to Him, \u201cWhy do You speak to them in parables?\u201d 11\u00a0<\/sup>He answered and said to them, \u201cBecause it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12\u00a0<\/sup>For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.<\/p>\n

PRACTICAL APPLICATION: The first two people in this parable, the hard ground and shallow, will go to hell when they die unless they repent. \u00a0They reject or ‘say’ they are Christians when there is no belief. \u00a0Those with the weeds truly believe but live like they don’t and they will be judged harshly also but less so than the others because they at least know what is right and want to be Christians. Most Christians are ‘weed eating’ and trying become ‘good ground’ for spiritual growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
