{"id":624,"date":"2015-07-19T20:12:11","date_gmt":"2015-07-20T00:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=624"},"modified":"2015-07-04T21:15:25","modified_gmt":"2015-07-05T01:15:25","slug":"monday-july-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=624","title":{"rendered":"Monday, July 20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MATTHEW 17 <sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, \u201cThe Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, <sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.\u201d And they were exceedingly sorrowful.<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>When they had come to Capernaum, those who received the <em>temple<\/em> tax came to Peter and said, \u201cDoes your Teacher not pay the <em>temple<\/em> tax?\u201d<sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>He said, \u201cYes.\u201dAnd when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, \u201cWhat do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?\u201d<sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>Peter said to Him, \u201cFrom strangers.\u201dJesus said to him, \u201cThen the sons are free. <sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first.
