{"id":755,"date":"2015-07-30T20:22:11","date_gmt":"2015-07-31T00:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=755"},"modified":"2015-07-27T17:14:27","modified_gmt":"2015-07-27T21:14:27","slug":"friday-july-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=755","title":{"rendered":"Friday, July 31"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MATTHEW 20 <sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>And when the ten heard <em>it,<\/em> they were greatly displeased with the two brothers. <sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>But Jesus called them to <em>Himself<\/em> and said, \u201cYou know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. <sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. <sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave\u2014 <sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.\u201d<sup>29\u00a0<\/sup>Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. <sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, \u201cHave mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!\u201d<sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, \u201cHave mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!\u201d<sup>32\u00a0<\/sup>So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, \u201cWhat do you want Me to do for you?\u201d<sup>33\u00a0<\/sup>They said to Him, \u201cLord, that our eyes may be opened.\u201d <sup>34\u00a0<\/sup>So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes.
