My hour has not yet come.\u201d 5 \u00a0 His mother said to the servants, \u201cWhatever He says to you, do it.\u201d 6 \u00a0 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 \u00a0 Jesus said to them, \u201cFill the waterpots with water.\u201d And they filled them up to the brim. 8 \u00a0 And He said to them, \u201cDraw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.\u201d And they took it. 9 \u00a0 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 \u00a0 And he said to him, \u201cEvery man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!\u201d 11 \u00a0 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. 12 \u00a0 After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 O Lord, our God, in Thy goodness and love for men forgive me all the sins I have committed today in word, deed or thought. Grant me peaceful and undisturbed sleep. Send Thy Guardian Angel to guard and protect me from all evil. For Thou art the guardian of our souls and bodies, and to Thee we ascribe glory, to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.<br \/>\n*(Evening Prayer and Confession of Sins)<\/p>\n<p>Monday<\/p>\n<p>John 2:13<\/p>\n<p>13 \u00a0 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 \u00a0 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. 15 \u00a0 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers\u2019 money and overturned the tables. 16 \u00a0 And He said to those who sold doves, \u201cTake these things away! Do not make My Father\u2019s house a house of merchandise!\u201d 17 \u00a0 Then His disciples remembered that it was written, \u201cZeal for Your house has eaten* Me up.\u201d* 18 \u00a0 So the Jews answered and said to Him, \u201cWhat sign do You show to us, since You do these things?\u201d 19 \u00a0 Jesus answered and said to them, \u201cDestroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.\u201d 20 \u00a0 Then the Jews said, \u201cIt has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in\u00a0\u00a0three days?\u201d 21 \u00a0 But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22 \u00a0 Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them;* and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said. 23 \u00a0 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. 24 \u00a0 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, 25 \u00a0 and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 O come, let us worship God our King.<br \/>\nO come, let us worship and fall down before Christ our King and God.<br \/>\nO come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and God.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday<br \/>\nJohn 3:1<\/p>\n<p>There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 \u00a0 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, \u201cRabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.\u201d 3 \u00a0 Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.\u201d 4 \u00a0 Nicodemus said to Him, \u201cHow can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother\u2019s womb and be born?\u201d 5 \u00a0 Jesus answered, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, \u2018You must be born again.\u2019 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.\u201d 9 \u00a0 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, \u201cHow can these things be?\u201d 10 \u00a0 Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cAre you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.* 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the\u00a0wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in Him should not perish but* have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18\u201c He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.\u201d 22 \u00a0 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Soul of Christ, sanctify me, Body of Christ, save me Blood of Christ, inebriate me, Water from Christ&#8217;s side, wash me, Passion of Christ, strengthen me, O good Jesus, hear me, Within Thy wounds hide me, Suffer me not to be separated from Thee, From the malicious enemy defend me, In the hour of my death call me, And bid me come unto Thee, That I may praise Thee with Thy saints, and with Thy angels, Forever and ever, Amen.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday<br \/>\nJohn 3 cont&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. 24 \u00a0 For John had not yet been thrown into prison. 25 \u00a0 Then there arose a dispute between some of John\u2019s disciples and the Jews about purification. 26 \u00a0 And they came to John and said to him, \u201cRabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified\u2014 behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!\u201d 27 \u00a0 John answered and said, \u201cA man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. 28 \u00a0 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, \u2018I am not the Christ,\u2019 but, \u2018I have been sent before Him.\u2019 29 \u00a0 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom\u2019s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. 30 \u00a0 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 \u00a0 He who comes from above is above all; he\u00a0who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. 32 \u00a0 And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. 33 \u00a0 He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. 34 \u00a0 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. 35 \u00a0 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 \u00a0 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.\u00a0 Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.<br \/>\n*Memorare<\/p>\n<p>Thursday<br \/>\nJohn 4:1<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John 2 \u00a0( though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples), 3 \u00a0 He left Judea and departed again to Galilee. 4 \u00a0 But He needed to go through Samaria. 5 \u00a0 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 \u00a0 Now Jacob\u2019s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 \u00a0 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, \u201cGive Me a drink.\u201d 8 \u00a0 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 \u00a0 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, \u201cHow is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?\u201d For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 \u00a0 Jesus answered and said to her, \u201cIf you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, \u2018Give Me a drink,\u2019 you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.\u201d 11 \u00a0 The woman said to Him, \u201cSir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 \u00a0 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?\u201d 13 \u00a0 Jesus answered and said to her, \u201cWhoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14but whoever\u00a0drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit,\u00a0 grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.<\/p>\n<p>Friday<br \/>\nSamaritan Woman continued&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>15 \u00a0 The woman said to Him, \u201cSir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.\u201d 16 \u00a0 Jesus said to her, \u201cGo, call your husband, and come here.\u201d 17 \u00a0 The woman answered and said, \u201cI have no husband.\u201d Jesus said to her, \u201cYou have well said, \u2018I have no husband,\u2019 18for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.\u201d 19 \u00a0 The woman said to Him, \u201cSir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 \u00a0 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.\u201d 21 \u00a0 Jesus said to her, \u201cWoman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.\u201d 25 \u00a0 The woman said to Him, \u201cI know that Messiah is coming\u201d (who is called Christ). \u201cWhen He comes, He will tell us all things.\u201d 26 \u00a0 Jesus said to her, \u201cI who speak to you am He.\u201d 27 \u00a0 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, \u201cWhat do You seek?\u201d or, \u201cWhy are You talking with her?\u201d 28 \u00a0 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29\u201c Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?\u201d 30 \u00a0 Then they went out of the city and came to Him. 31 \u00a0 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, \u201cRabbi, eat.\u201d 32 \u00a0 But He said to them, \u201cI have food to eat of which you do not know.\u201d\u00a033 \u00a0 Therefore the disciples said to one another, \u201cHas anyone brought Him anything to eat?\u201d 34 \u00a0 Jesus said to them, \u201cMy food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35Do you not say, \u2018There are still four months and then comes the harvest\u2019? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37For in this the saying is true: \u2018One sows and another reaps.\u2019 38I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 With the Saints, give rest, O Christ, to the souls of Thy servants, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no sighing, but life everlasting.<br \/>\n*Kontakion of the Departed<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Saturday<br \/>\nJohn 4 concluded&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, \u201cHe told me all that I ever did.\u201d 40 \u00a0 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 \u00a0 And many more believed because of His own word. 42 \u00a0 Then they said to the woman, \u201cNow we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ,* the Savior of the world.\u201d 43 \u00a0 Now after the two days He departed from there and went to Galilee. 44 \u00a0 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. 45 \u00a0 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also had gone to the feast. uJohn Is Imprisoned \/<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 3: 19-20 19<\/strong> \u00a0 But Herod the tetrarch, being rebuked by him concerning Herodias, his brother Philip\u2019s wife,* and for all the evils which Herod had done, 20 \u00a0 also added this, above all, that he shut John up in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0 Lord, I have cried to Thee, hearken unto me. Hearken unto me, O Lord. Lord, I have cried to Thee, hearken unto me.\u00a0 Attend to the voice of my prayer, when I cry unto Thee. Hearken unto me, O Lord.
