{"id":911,"date":"2015-08-19T20:03:03","date_gmt":"2015-08-20T00:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=911"},"modified":"2015-08-15T21:04:18","modified_gmt":"2015-08-16T01:04:18","slug":"thursday-august-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orthodoxinsight.com\/?p=911","title":{"rendered":"Thursday, August 20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MATTHEW 25 <sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cWhen the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. <sup>32\u00a0<\/sup>All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides <em>his<\/em> sheep from the goats. <sup>33\u00a0<\/sup>And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. <sup>34\u00a0<\/sup>Then the King will say to those on His right hand, \u2018Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: <sup>35\u00a0<\/sup>for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; <sup>36\u00a0<\/sup>I <em>was<\/em> naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.\u2019 <sup>37\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cThen the righteous will answer Him, saying, \u2018Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed <em>You,<\/em> or thirsty and give <em>You<\/em> drink? <sup>38\u00a0<\/sup>When did we see You a stranger and take <em>You<\/em> in, or naked and clothe <em>You?<\/em> <sup>39\u00a0<\/sup>Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?\u2019 <sup>40\u00a0<\/sup>And the King will answer and say to them, \u2018Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did <em>it<\/em> to one of the least of these My brethren, you did <em>it<\/em> to Me.\u2019<sup>41\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cThen He will also say to those on the left hand, \u2018Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: <sup>42\u00a0<\/sup>for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; <sup>43\u00a0<\/sup>I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.\u2019<sup>44\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cThen they also will answer Him, saying, \u2018Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?\u2019 <sup>45\u00a0<\/sup>Then He will answer them, saying, \u2018Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do <em>it<\/em> to one of the least of these, you did not do <em>it<\/em> to Me.\u2019 <sup>46\u00a0<\/sup>And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>.\u201d For at the second coming He will come with glory, escorted by angels. First He will divide the saints from the sinners, delivering them from tribulations, and set them on His right, and then speak to them. He calls the saints \u201csheep\u201d on account of their gentleness, and because they yield fruit and useful things for us, as do sheep, providing wool, which is divine and spiritual protection, and milk, which is the sustenance that is needed.
