Sunday
Luke 23:1   Then the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to Pilate. 2   And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this fellow perverting the* nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”  3   Then Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered him and said, “It is as you say.” 4   So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this Man.” 5   But they were the more fierce, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.” 6   When Pilate heard of Galilee,* he asked if the Man were a Galilean. 7   And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time. 8   Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. 9   Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing. 10   And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him. 11   Then Herod, with his men of war, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate. 12   That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other, for previously they had been at enmity with each other.

Prayer:  O my God I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; I believe that Thy Divine Son became man, and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, who canst neither deceive nor be deceived. (Act of Faith)

Monday
Mark 15: 6   Now at the feast he was accustomed to releasing one prisoner to them, whomever they requested. 7   And there was one named Barabbas, who was chained with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the rebellion. 8   Then the multitude, crying aloud,* began to ask him to do just as he had  always done for them. 9   But Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” 10   For he knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. 11   But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them. 12   Pilate answered and said to them again, “What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?” 13   So they cried out again, “Crucify Him!” 14   Then Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, “Crucify Him!” 15   So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be crucified.

Prayer:  Having risen from sleep I hasten to Thee, O Lord, Lover of men, and by Thy loving-kindness I strive to do Thy work, and I pray to Thee:  help me at all times, in everything, and deliver me from every evil thing of the world and every attack of the devil, and lead me into Thine eternal Kingdom. For Thou art my Creator, the Giver and Provider of everything good, and all my hope is in Thee, and to Thee I send up glory, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.  Amen.

Tuesday
John 19:1   So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. 2   And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. 3   Then they said,* “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands. 4   Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.” 5   Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!” 6   Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.” 7   The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our* law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.” 8   Therefore, when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid, 9   and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. 10   Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?” 11   Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.” 12   From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you let this Man  go, you are not Caesar’s friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.” 13   When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14   Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold your King!” 15   But they cried out, “Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!” 16   Then he delivered Him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led Him away.*

Prayer:  Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Wednesday

Matthew 2727   Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him. 28   And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. 29   When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 30   Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. 31   And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.

Thursday
Matthew 2732   Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross. 33   And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, 34   they gave Him sour* wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.
Luke 23: 26  Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus. 27   And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and women who also mourned and lamented Him. 28   But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ 30Then they will begin ‘to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”  ’* 31For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?”

Prayer:  The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.   And she conceived of the Holy Ghost.
Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death.

Friday
Luke 23: 32   There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. 33   And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand  and the other on the left. 34   Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”* And they divided His garments and cast lots. 35   And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.” 36   The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, 37   and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.” 38   And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew:* THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 39   Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ,* save Yourself and us.” 40   But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41   And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” 42   Then he said to Jesus, “Lord,* remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” 43   And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Prayer:   Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an Angel, may by His Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.

Saturday
John 19:23   Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. 24   They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says:      “ They divided My garments among them,       And for My clothing they cast lots.”* Therefore the soldiers did these things. 25   Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26   When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” 27   Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.

Prayer:  May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
