“Just as a mother is always aware of her child’s presence, even when she is occupied with other people or activities, even more so is God ever aware of each and every one of us at every moment. The problem is that we try to hide from God, to only be in His presence when it is convenient for us, or, more precisely, when we want something from Him. We are like spoiled children, convinced that we know what to do, how to do it, what is good for us and that we can do everything on our own… we turn our back on the Creator and go off to do our will and satisfy our own pleasures, desires and often sinful passions.”
