“When I am angry with my brother, or angry with circumstances (or angry even with God), if I will turn my gaze inward and ask myself, my conscience, why this might be happening, what truth is being revealed (and isn’t there always at least a grain of truth in whatever my brother is accusing me of?); and ask where is my sin in it (with certainty that it is there), and where am I to blame?—it actually removes the sting of my burning passion and pacifies the wound that I accused my brother of making. It’s the first step toward genuine peace.”
