St. Mary Magdalene: St. Mary was prominently mentioned in the Gospels as a devoted follower of Christ.  She was among the first witnesses of His Resurrection.  Later she witnessed to Tiberias Caesar and gave him a red egg.   Yet, she was never a priest or Church hierarch. In today’s world where ‘equality’ is a preoccupation, the differing roles of men and women in the Church should not be seen as barriers or ‘classes’.  St. Mary is an example that one doesn’t need a ‘title’ to accomplish great things for the Lord.
