Reflection on the Gospel Theme for Sunday, November 29
The Gospel on Sunday is the healing of the woman on the Sabbath.
Christ Continues Healing through icons and miracles just like the did the woman in Sunday’s Gospel when He was on earth. Here is the story of one icon (the Tikvin Icon)
This icon of the Holy Theotokos [written (painted) by St. Luke in the 1st century who first began icon writing] was first in Constantinople, but in 1383, seventy years before the fall of Constantinople, it suddenly appeared in the sky near the town of Tikhvin in northern Russia. On the spot where it came down to the ground, a church and monastery were established. The icon is named for the town of Tikhvin. Countless miracles have been wrought from this miraculous icon; many of the sick, especially, have received healing from it.
