“We have the habit in our Church of saying the Preparation Prayers for Holy Communion during our cell rule, and the Thanksgiving Prayers are said at the end of the Liturgy. But I’ve often found that taking those prayers and spreading them out over the days after Holy Communion is a good way to start reminding yourself that gratitude for receiving the Holy Gifts is not just momentary. It doesn’t just happen in that instant while you can still taste Them in your throat but is to extend and fill the days ahead.”
