Martyr Agathonicus of Nicomedia:  two characteristics the all martyrs share are knowledge of the Faith and honesty.   Without a full measure of knowledge of the Faith they would not have allowed themselves to undergo the tortures of the pagans.  Without honesty the pagans wouldn’t have known they were Christians.  Do we have these characteristics in our life where there is no persecution?
