Sunday

Luke 25:13   Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles* from Jerusalem. 14   And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15   So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16   But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him. 17   And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”* 18   Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?” 19   And He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20   and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21   But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22   Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23   When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24   And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.” 25   Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have  spoken! 26Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27   And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. 28   Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29   But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them. 30   Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31   Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32   And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” 33   So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34   saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

Prayer:  O Lord, our God, in Thy goodness and love for men forgive me all the sins I have committed today in word, deed or thought. Grant me peaceful and undisturbed sleep. Send Thy Guardian Angel to guard and protect me from all evil. For Thou art the guardian of our souls and bodies, and to Thee we ascribe glory, to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Monday

Luke 24:

35   And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread. 36   Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37   But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38   And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” 40   When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.* 41   But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” 42   So they gave Him a  piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.* 43   And He took it and ate in their presence.

Prayer:  O come, let us worship God our King.
O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ our King and God.
O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and God.

Tuesday

John 20: 24   Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25   The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” 26   And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27   Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28   And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29   Jesus said to him, “Thomas,* because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”   And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31   but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Prayer:  Soul of Christ, sanctify me, Body of Christ, save me Blood of Christ, inebriate me, Water from Christ’s side, wash me, Passion of Christ, strengthen me, O good Jesus, hear me, Within Thy wounds hide me, Suffer me not to be separated from Thee, From the malicious enemy defend me, In the hour of my death call me, And bid me come unto Thee, That I may praise Thee with Thy saints, and with Thy angels, Forever and ever, Amen.

Wednesday

John 21:1   After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2   Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3   Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately* got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4   But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5   Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” 6   And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. 7   Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. 8   But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9   Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. 10   Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.” 11   Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. 12   Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”— knowing that it was the Lord. 13   Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. 14   This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead.

Prayer:  Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.  Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Thursday

John 21:15   So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah,* do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” 16   He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah,* do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” 17   He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah,* do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. 18Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” 19   This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.” 20   Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” 21   Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?” 22   Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.” 23   Then this saying went out among the brethren that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you?”

Prayer:  Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit,  grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Friday

Matthew 28:16   Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17   When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18   And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore* and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.*

Prayer:  With the Saints, give rest, O Christ, to the souls of Thy servants, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no sighing, but life everlasting.

Saturday

Mark  16:15   And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18they* will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Luke 24)  Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45   And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. 46   Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise* from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48And you are witnesses of these things. 49Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem* until you are endued with power from on high.”

Prayer:  Lord, I have cried to Thee, hearken unto me. Hearken unto me, O Lord. Lord, I have cried to Thee, hearken unto me.  Attend to the voice of my prayer, when I cry unto Thee. Hearken unto me, O Lord. Let my prayer be set forth as incense before Thee, the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice.  Hearken unto me, O Lord.
